Frank Newsum

Frank Newsum is from London. He lived in Lincolnshire, and then in Germany, before settling in Yorkshire.

His poems have been published in a number of magazines, including Psychopoetica, Smiths Knoll, ‘still’, Envoi, Iota, Staple, and the Rialto; and in the anthology Beyond Bedlam, from Anvil Press; and he has given readings in Bridlington, Beverley, Hull, York, London, and Hastings, and on BBC Local Radio.

In 2010 one of his poems was short-listed for the Bridport Poetry Prize; the same year, he was chosen as one of six equal winners in the Escalator National Poetry Competition, from which he gained an extended period of professional mentoring with George Szirtes.
